In 2008 the series did not seem in bad shape - and then the next Devil May Cry was DmC, a reboot developed by the Cambridge studio Ninja Theory. Dominic Sheard: "DmC: Devil May Cry received some major stick from serious hardcore fans when it was first shown, and it carried on through all those months up to its release on January 2013. Even after that people were still sticking into it because it didn't have the right Dante or that they thought the combat didn't look as good as previous entries - a damn hard thing to do as the series has featured one of the best in the business - or that the game was too easy compared to the challenge of Devil May Cry 3. I've enjoyed the hell out of the series, well, apart from something that has a 2 on the end, and I completely had nothing but fun with Ninja Theorys take on Devil May Crys stylish action, which embodies the previous games, but with a new flair of British flavour that blends together with fantastic level design and an elegant, flowing combat system that now has a silky performance buff and little tweaks in this remastered release that makes it the one to play."

GT: I was never much of a fan of the original Devil May Cry series, so when DmC: Devil May Cry rebooted the franchise in 2013, I was surprised to find myself instantly hooked and drawn into the dark, gritty world. DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition reintroduces fans to the new Dante, with various tweaks and improvements along the way.

GO: Two years ago, DmC hit last-gen consoles and PC to rave reviews. As someone who liked, but didnt really love the original Devil May Cry trilogy, I absolutely adored the reboot. Now, time has passed and brought with it a new console generation that is sorely lacking in action-heavy games like this. Enter the Definitive Edition of DmC. Now running at 1080p and 60 frames per second, the action has never looked better on a console.

GI: When DmC: Devil May Cry released more than two years ago, it had a hard time connecting with gamers. It wasnt a bad game by any means, but it wasnt what players had come to expect from a Devil May Cry game. As such, many fans were left cold by Capcoms attempt to appeal to a western audience. The re-design of Dante and difference in gameplay was difficult for fans to move past (even were slightly guilty).
